Ulla Norup Milbrath - Artist & Teacher
Ulla is a delight with a tasteful style all her own! Wonderfully talented, she shares her skills and passions through a love of teaching others. When she pauses from the host of inspiring classes she offers at her studio, she finds time to create…and we are thrilled that these treasures have come our way. Ulla loves paper, old things and layering textures in a harnessed space to create a new world. Among our favorites are her reliquary jewelry pieces. In these, she creates a small scene, and then captures this scene under mica, soldering the piece with scalloped edges and adorning it with her wee signature in wax. Mica is a natural element with lots of wonderful sheen and texture in its surface…this lends an ethereal quality to her work. Along with ephemera, she often find use for odd bits of vintage finery and hand crafts her recipe of goodies into wearable art. Her jewelry is divine with an airy quality and sweet story.
