Pat Murphy creates her wonderful “Murphy Bears” in her Ann Arbor, MI studio. Her distinctly, vintage-look creations have fine detailing and are well-recognized for their "aged" look. Pat is an exceptional stitcher, this, along with her knowledge of antique textiles and her fine craftsmanship make her heirloom teds and soft sculptures highly sought after among collectors and folk art enthusiasts. Charming in their vintage or retro attire, a closer look at the faces of her creations shows their depth of "soul". She is also noted for stuffing her bears with wood shavings (excelsior) and pellets to give them the feel of antique teds.
