Laurie Meseroll creates winsome and sincere mixed media paintings well-recognized for their style and storytelling. She calls the non-traditional folk art she creates in her inimitable style “Mud-Cakes”. In her own words…, “In painting it is always an experiment. I tend to find enormous depth in ordinary everyday activity so I work outside of storytelling and try to capture feeling and twist it around a bit to offer an intriguing image. My paintings flow from the realm of characters and stories into unexplored areas of stillness and reflection.” Laurie is a wonderfully fun and interesting person who misses her beloved Woodstock in Upstate, NY. She and her work have been featured in “Where Women Create” and “PRIMS” magazines.
