Kitty B, as we affectionately call her, creates a wonderful world of whimsy under glass. She harnesses odd little found objects in her shadowboxes made from old frames. Bits of everyday life are collaged, assembled and then beg a closer look. Kitty elevates castoff tools, misfit toys and leftover tidbits in her celebration of whimsy, selecting and then surrounding them in their own little world of paper and glitter, whimsy and mirth. Calico & Buttons are her two very favorite things, so she’s named these assemblage pieces and framed collages in their celebration. A part of their fun is the tag…Kitty collages a hangtag with little sayings, collaging words from old books. Her works are conversational pieces for sure! I own many myself and I am tickled that Kitty has asked us to share these images of her latest work with you.
